About
Built for the moment AI is wrong.
AI is about to operate inside every product — reading records, issuing refunds, sending messages, changing schemas. Authoric exists because the industry's answer to "what if it's wrong?" has been a paragraph in a system prompt.
The wave of AI-generated software is real, and we think it's wonderful. It is also mass-producing systems with no enforced boundary between an agent and the data it touches.
Code generation and runtime governance are different problems. A model can write your app; it cannot enforce your tenant isolation, your approval rules, or your audit obligations — those are properties of the running system, and no amount of eyeballing generated code verifies them.
So we built the running system. A backend platform where the policy engine isn't a feature you wire up — it's the substrate everything passes through, including every AI agent. Where the dangerous action doesn't fail loudly in production; it pauses quietly in an inbox and waits for a human.
Any agent can impress you in a demo. What matters is the day it reaches for something dangerous — and on Authoric, that day ends with an approval request, not an incident report.
Principles
What we believe
Same rules for everyone
A person, a service, and an AI agent are all principals under one policy engine. The moment there's a special AI path, there's a path to escape.
Deterministic beats probabilistic
A guardrail written in a prompt is a request. A guardrail enforced by the runtime is a fact. We only ship the second kind.
Approval is a feature, not friction
The most valuable moment on the platform is an agent stopping — pausing a risky action until a human says yes. We design for that moment, not around it.
Trust is earned at runtime
Convenience is table stakes; every platform is convenient now. Very few are trustworthy enough that a company lets AI operate inside them. That's the standard we build to.
Straight answers
What we are — and what we aren't
Positioning gets clearer when you say both halves out loud.
Authoric is
- A governed runtime where AI operates a real multi-tenant backend
- The policy engine, approval loop, and audit trail your agents run through
- A complete backend — data, functions, auth, realtime, storage, billing
- The layer a vibe-coded frontend can safely talk to
Authoric is not
- A type-a-sentence, get-an-app generator
- A frontend host — point Vercel or Netlify at us
- An internal-tools UI builder
- A wrapper that asks a model nicely to behave
